St. Quirinus Winery
Kaltern's district Oberplanitzing: a long standing tradition in viticulture, an enviable view, sun-spoiled slopes, living tradition. And in the heart of it, a surprisingly different organic-farmhouse featuring modern holiday apartments as well as its own winecellar.
The St. Quirinus organic winery is located in an ancient wine-growing territory that once belonged to the Benedictine monastery of Tegernsee.
For some years now, the winery has been producing grapes in a biodynamic way, which are then transformed into fine wines in the new cellar. Next to the classic varieties such as Sauvignon, Kalterersee, Pinot Noir and Merlot, fungus-resistant varieties (PIWI) such as Bronner, Johanniter, Aromera, Chambourcin, Prior and Cabernet Cortis are increasingly being cultivated. This gives rise to the two cuves Planties Weiss and Planties Rosè.
In the new wine cellar, the fine noble wines are produced from the own grapes according to old tradition with modern technology.
